Jeanne Howell, ESL Teacher at West Clayton Elementary, has been named the January Certified Employee of the Month.
“Although she has been teaching for many years, she is always striving to learn new and better ways of doing things,” states her nomination form. “Every year Ms. Howell applies for grants to benefit her students, and she takes advantage of opportunities for professional development frequently (and usually on her own time – after school or over the summer as she hates to miss time with her students). She wants the parents of her ESL students to feel welcome here at WC, and parent involvement has increased since she has been here.”
