The Home Builders Association of Johnston County showed their spirit of giving at their annual Christmas Dinner by raising over $9,200 for the House of Hope. The dinner was held on December 13 at the Johnston County Country Club.
“The HBAJC has always shown its Christmas Spirit by donating funds and resources to help others in need”, says association President, Freddie Stancil. “Although this was a tough economic year for many of us, you wouldn’t have known it based on the fun and generosity in the room”.
Attendees enjoyed being “waited on” by the HBAJC Board of Directors, all dressed for the part with their custom aprons and trays in hand. Although they worked hard to earn their tips, it was all part of the fun helping raise money for such a worthy cause.
Dinner was followed by a live auction hosted by auctioneer Julie Raynor who helped raise over $7,600 from items donated by the event sponsor ProBuild and other members.
The House of Hope opened in March of 1998 as a Christian therapeutic school, home, and counseling center for hurting and troubled girls, ages 12-17. They have an intensive program offering Christian education and counseling for girls and their families regardless of their financial situation. Their mission is to build hope, change lives and restore families through the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
