National Essay Contest Winner Named at Polenta Elementary

The NREA Foundation Essay Contest winners were announced September 9, 2008.  The first place winner in the elementary division is Hannah Victoria Lee, a 4th grader at Polenta Elementary School, Benson, North Carolina.  The runner-up is Eden Phillip Dennis, a 3rd grader from Mazon-Verona-Kinsman Elementary District 2C, Mazon, Illinois.

Rams Rally to Capture Victory

The Cleveland Middle School Rams rallied in the fourth quarter to defeat Archer’s Lodge in a come-from-behind win on Oct. 2.

Descendants of Amos “Babe” and Lenora “Nora” Wood Coats will have a family reunion and old fashioned picnic on Sunday, Sept. 28 at Clemmons Educational State Forest on Old Highway 70 about 1.3 miles west of Clayton.
