Human Resource Development (HRD) employability classes at JCC campuses provide FREE skill assessment services, employability skills training, and career development activities for adults who are unemployed or underemployed. The following classes are offered during JCC’s fall semester.
Introduction to Computers
This course is designed for anyone who needs basic computer skill training. The course is also excellent for job seekers interested in learning computer basics for job searching.

This 3-hour workshop will provide tips on topics critical for job seekers. Topics include resume writing, cover letters, interviewing skills and how to handle difficult information.

With the help of a knowledgeable instructor, this 6-hour class will be an opportunity to actually create an effective resume, as well as a cover letter that will get the attention of employers.

Step Up To A New Career
This course is perfect for those who are finishing school or those who have been recently laid off and don’t know where to start with the job search process. Information will be given on how to assess your strengths and investigate the career that is right for you.

Pre-Teller Certification
This course is designed to assist individuals who would like to enter the banking industry as a bank teller. Information provided will include skill awareness, banking terminology, computer skill training and customer relation skills.

Pathways To Health Care
Are you considering a career in healthcare, but you are unsure about your options? This class explores the various occupations within Johnston County and surrounding counties. Understanding the education, experience and employment requirements is the first step.
