Plein Air painting is a French term used for drawing and painting in the out-of-doors and painting or drawing directly from nature and places an emphasis on capturing the beauty, mystery, places, people and attractions found out-of-doors.
Zilphia Adcock, Executive Director of the Johnston County Arts Council had this to say about the upcoming event:
‘The Tobacco Farm Life Museum offers so much in their beautiful grounds and turn-of-the-century homestead, both experienced and novice plein-air painters will have numerous opportunities to explore and capture a beautiful moment on canvas. Our plein air events will continue throughout the remainder of the year and we are always in search of fantastic places, like the museum, to host our events in various locations within the county. We hope everyone who has an interest in plein air painting will join us on July 22nd for a fun-filled and creative day!’
