The Rotary Club of Central Johnston County recently presented a $17,000 gift to the College Foundation for student support and scholarships.
The contribution was made from proceeds generated from the club’s 2009 Four Oaks Bank Rotary Golf Classic.
“Our club is excited about the donation to the Foundation this year,” said Club President Joy Callahan. “We had remarkable response from our sponsors of this year’s tournament. Even in tough economic times our sponsors understand the impact these dollars have on our students. We look forward to next year’s tournament and anticipate continued support of the JCC Foundation.”
JCC President Dr. David Johnson thanked Central Johnston Rotary for its tremendous support of JCC’s mission.
“Johnston Community College is extremely grateful to the Rotary Club of Central Johnston County for its philanthropy,” Johnson said. “This significant gift will translate into numerous scholarships, making education a reality for many of our students. We are truly thankful for this growing partnership as we continue to work together to improve our community.”
