The McGee’s Middle FFA was greeted at the 2009 North Carolina State Fair by State Agricultural Commissioner Steve Troxler. Commissioner Troxler held a brief question and answer session with students outside of the “Got to be N.C. Agriculture” exhibit. Commissioner Troxler demonstrated his agility and eagerness to excite North Carolina Agricultural Education students by scaling the extra-large “Got to be N.C. Big Cart”, and cranking its Chevrolet 396 V8 engine. Prior to meeting with Commissioner Troxler, chapter members explored the exhibit which displayed North Carolina’s agricultural diversity and offered samples and purchase locations for various locally produced products. The MXM FFA is currently the only active middle school FFA chapter in Johnston County, with 35 members.
