Mrs. Alice Overby’s third grade class entered an art contest sponsored by Butterball. The art work was done in pairs or groups of students to promote teamwork. The winning entry was a turkey done by Logan Byrd and Alexis Graba. Buddy Butterball, Butterball’s mascot, and Mickey Mouse came to Polenta to make the presentation. They also brought the White House turkey that will travel to the White House to be pardoned by President Obama. The turkey will then travel to Disneyland to live and will be the Grand Marshall at the Thanksgiving Day parade. Each student in the class received a certificate from Butterball to purchase a Butterball turkey for his/her family to enjoy on Thanksgiving Day
