Career Development Coordinators are offering workshops for students interested in attending community colleges to help with college placement. The Accuplacer is the standard placement test for many community colleges and student scoring determines which classes incoming freshmen may take. To help students better prepare for the test, CDCs, math, and English teachers at our high schools are providing workshops that will familiarize students with the test platform and help them brush up on the skills that are tested. This effort is part of Career and Technical Education's Tech Prep initiative to ease the transition for students going to post-secondary education and reduce the number of remedial courses that students are required to take.. For more information, parents may contact the Career Development Counselor at their student's school.
