Ann Jackson, director of the Radiography program at Johnston Community College, has received the Image Professional Excellence Award from the North Carolina Society of Radiologic Technologists.

The award is given annually in recognition of outstanding leadership and service in the imaging profession.

Linda Smith, department chair of Health Sciences programs at JCC, praised Jackson for her hard work and dedication to the Radiography program and its students.

“We are very proud of Ann and her accomplishments at JCC,” Smith said. “She is an outstanding leader and is very deserving of this award.”

A native of Dunn, Jackson is a graduate of JCC’s Radiography program and has worked at the College for seven years. She credited her outstanding team of faculty and clinical instructors for the program’s success. “Every person in this program played a part in this honor,” Jackson said. “We take pride in everything we do. I can’t take credit for these accomplishments because it was all team work.”

Under Jackson’s leadership, the Radiography program recently received an eight-year accreditation, the maximum awarded by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology.
