The Child Nutrition Department of Johnston County Schools is excited about giving parents the ability to manage their child’s meal account over the internet using PayForIt.net. This new technology benefits the schools, the parents, and the kids. Cashiers will spend less time taking deposits at the serving line so the children have more time to eat their meals. Parents will no longer have to worry about money not reaching the cafeteria or their child running out of money. Kids do not have to worry about having no money to pay for their meals. This system will be available during the Christmas Holidays for parents. It will be in operation in the schools on January 4, 2010. Information is being given to each student in their schools to share with parents about the access information needed to set up their child(ren)s account. The fee information for using the account is noted in the information going to parents as well. Contact information for the Child Nutrition Office is shared in this information going out to parents should questions arise.

Parents can sign up for a PayForIt.net account at any time. Once the account is activated they can start taking advantage of all the features PayForIt.net offers including:

• Set up recurring payments so they don’t have to worry about their child not having money

• Set up email reminders so they know when their child’s account is getting low

• Convenience of depositing money 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

• Monitor what their child is spending his/her money on

Online step by step tutorials on how to use PayForIt.net

• A safe and secure environment

PayForIt.net integrates seamlessly with the district software so if money is deposited by 9pm ET, in most cases, it is available for kids the next morning. Elizabeth A. Taylor, Child Nutrition Director, says, “We are so pleased with the ease of use of PayForIt.net and the amount of time that it saves our child nutrition staff. Parents put money on their child’s account today and in no time the money is available for the child to use. It is so simple.”
