The Apex Police Department is asking the public for information about two armed robberies that occurred last week in town.
Investigators believe the robberies are connected.
Two men robbed the Racing Mart at 321 S. Salem St. Wednesday, Jan. 27 at 10:12 p.m.
The men entered the store with hoods pulled up over their heads and took cash from the store register.
One suspect was armed with a handgun.
The second incident took place Friday, Jan. 29 at 12:47 a.m. at the Kangaroo gas station at 705 E. Williams St.
Only one suspect entered the store during this robbery. Armed with a chrome or silver semi-automatic handgun, he struck one clerk in the face with his fist and ordered another clerk to remove the money from the register.
Fortunately, the clerk suffered only minor injuries.
Apex police released a video of the Racing Mart robbery, which can be viewed at www theapexherald .com.
“We are offering a reward for information about these robberies,” said Capt. Ann Stephens. “We are also asking that if anyone sees anything suspicious or they recognize the suspects in the video then they should call us.”
