Kendra Lisec is chairperson of SkillsUSA Week Activities at West Johnston High School where students are active in SkillsUSA. For the week the activities will include:
Tuesday: SkillsUSA Advisor & Principal Appreciation Day
Wednesday: Advocacy Day
Thursday: Campus Cleanup Day
Friday: Club Red Day.
In the last four years the SkillUSA program at West Johnston High School has grown from one of the smallest chapters in the State of North Carolina to the largest. Currently, there are over 45 of its 100+ member students preparing to compete in the upcoming Region 3 competition to be held at Johnston Community College Feb. 19. Each student competitor will have the opportunity, once qualified to compete at the state level to be a part of the top three percent to compete Nationally.
SkillsUSA is a national organization serving high school and college students and professional members enrolled in training programs in technical, skilled, and service occupations, including health occupations in high schools and college/technical schools.
