JOHNSTON COUNTY – The Partnership for Children of Johnston County is kicking off a fundraising campaign to support the construction of an inclusive playground, to be located near Miracle Field in Smithfield, with the Third Annual Partnership for Children Beach Ball on Saturday, May 15th from 7-11pm at the Johnston County Agricultural Center. All proceeds from the event support the Partnership’s vision to see a park where all children can play together and learn from one another. The inclusive playground will be a place that is fenced and handicap accessible for wheel chairs and walkers; a place that is not just physically stimulating, but also stimulates the senses with water play, music tubes, and textures. The playground will allow all children, including special needs children in Johnston County to play with their friends, peers and families in a safe, natural environment.

The Beach Ball Fundraising kick-off will feature the summer sounds of Deejay Steve Hardy’s Original Beach Party, dancing, and heavy hors d’euvres catered by Cinema Cafe. There will be a live auction with Auctioneer Randy Wester, sports memorabilia from www.LegendsAutographs.com, jewelry, pig pickin for 50 by White Swan BBQ, party package for 10 at Charlie Goodnight’s Comedy Club, restaurant dinners, and more. Don’t miss your opportunity to bring out your sundresses and khakis and be a part of this event.

Tickets, $45 each or $40 each for 8 or more, are available on-line at www.pfcjc.org or by calling 202-0002. Kay Long, Co-Chair of the Beach Ball Committee says, “This is a chance for the community to enjoy a special night out, and support children in a very special and targeted way.” Please join us in our efforts by supporting the 3rd Annual Partnership for Children Beach Ball and the park for children of all abilities. Sponsorships are available.

For more information about the Partnership for Children or the Inclusion Park please contact Dwight Morris, Executive Director of the Partnership for Children at 202-0002.
