The public is invited to attend the artist demonstration on Aug. 19 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the main lobby of Johnston Medical Center-Clayton.
Mary has been a professional working artist since 2004. She owns and operates her studio in Princeton, North Carolina. Mary has been chosen to participate in several shows and venues both locally and out of state. She has also won awards for ‘Best Set Design’ through her work with the Neuse Little Theatre. Using her skills as an artist gives her a constant and ever-changing avenue with which to share and imply emotion in a universal way.
Mary has created many works utilizing oil, pastel, charcoal, organic materials and various sculptural processes, including kinetic art. Much of her work can be seen locally hanging at Eye of the Eagle Gallery in Clayton, The Clayton Steakhouse, and Orchard House Booksellers in Smithfield. In addition, she also participates in art groups including the CVA (Clayton Visual Arts) and the VAE (Visual Art Exchange), in Raleigh.
She has resided in Princeton with her husband James and two children, Shane and Rebecca, since 1999.
The Arts-in-Healthcare program will continue throughout the year with scheduled demonstrations on the third Thursday of each month from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Johnston Medical Center-Clayton.
